Grant Investment Programs

Calgary Arts Development is pleased to announce the 2021 community investment programs for arts organizations, individual artists, and artist collectives practicing and operating in Calgary (known as Moh’kinsstis in Blackfoot).

Calgary Arts Development programs are assessed by peer committees of artists and artistic community members. If you are interested in serving as a peer assessor, or would like to nominate someone, complete the assessor nomination form.


The following programs are available to individual artists and collectives:


Artist Development Microgrant (up to $2,500)

January 6, 2021: Program guidelines published
January 11, 2021: Applications open
February 16, 2021: Application deadline
January to March 2021: Evaluation of grants
Mid-March: Notification of results
March to April 2021: Funds distributed

Project Grant Program – Individuals and Collectives (up to $15,000 for individuals or $20,000 for collectives)


March 28, 2021: Program guidelines published
May 3, 2021: Applications open
June 14, 2021: Application deadline
June to August 2021: Evaluation of grants
Late August 2021: Notifications of results
September 2021: Funds distributed


The Original Peoples Investment Program | First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists and FNMI-led/centered organizations only (up to $15,000) 

February 1, 2021: Program guidelines published
March 15, 2021: Applications open
April 19, 2021 at 4:30pm MT: Application deadline
April to May 2021: Evaluation of grants
May to June 2021: Notifications of results and funds distributed
